MPHS Performing Arts Parents

Performing Arts Parents support all aspects of the music and drama departments including chorus and the various vocal ensembles, color guard, marching band, jazz band, concert band, the musical, the drama and of course our teachers. In 2000, more than 50% of the entire school population was involved in some area of performing arts.
As these numbers grow, our membership needs to grow to help support all the activates.

Performing Arts Parents fund and support many opportunities throughout the year, and we need your financial support as well as your volunteer spirit!
Some of the opportunities Performing Arts Parents do for the department:
Paying for busses for day trips when needed. Giving an annual gift to the department to benefit all the students
Raising scholarship money for senior scholarships - In 2000, we gave $2000 to graduating seniors. Assisting the students with fund raising for department sponsored trips. Encouraging student leadership by funding leadership camps for the drum majors and color guard captains. Pizza parties and breakfasts.

Our general meetings all are welcome to come and discuss ideas and plans for the students. Our teachers usually attend to keep us current with all the happenings in the department, and it is a good time to really find out what is going on...unless, of course, your student tells you all the news.
