1) Music 101 | Disney Performing Arts Workshops

Interact with an entertainment professional as you learn the integral role that music plays at Disneyland® Resort, in Disney films and in the world at large. Then test your knowledge with fun, interactive exercises.

Workshop Overview

Created for beginning music students, this 90-minute interactive workshop examines the components of music, how to read and compose music, and how music creates the immersive worlds of Disney Parks. Through the unique and inspirational approach of professional Clinicians, students are encouraged to get on their feet and take the first, fun steps toward becoming true musicians.

Students will reinforce musical fundamentals and discover ways to improve future performances as they:

Listen to, analyze and describe music.
    Evaluate music and musical performances.
Gain an understanding of the relationships between music, other arts and disciplines outside the arts.
Examine music in relation to history and culture.

This workshop's content meets National Standards for Arts Education as established by the National Association for Music Education.

2) Soundtrack Session: Instrumental | Disney Performing Arts Workshops

Sight-read and record music from Disney films in a simulated film-scoring studio as you learn the critical role each member of a concert band or orchestra plays in delivering a pitch-perfect performance.

Workshop Overview

Instrumental students experience the excitement of a working recording studio, where professional Clinicians present sight-reading techniques, performance concepts, and the entire process for laying down music tracks. Taught by industry composers, arrangers, conductors, or studio musicians, the 90-minute workshop culminates with a reveal of the students' hard work - a screening of their recorded score, set to the original Disney film footage!

During this exciting learning experience students will:

Perform on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
    Read and notate music.
